This introductory session will set the stage for the series by briefly reviewing diabetes types and then focusing on how to meet patients where they are through whole-person intake, trust-building, and clear, non‑judgmental patient education that acknowledges trauma, stress, and social determinants of health.

  2. Whole-person intake in communities with high social needs
  3. Practical patient education & communication
  4. Addressing stigma, bias, and self‑blame
  5. Q&A / discussion
