Session Description: During this Author Conversation, you’ll have the opportunity to hear directly from Tom J. Ward as he shares background on the Tufts-Delta Health Center—the first rural community health center in the United States—and what inspired him to write about it and the social determinants of health it addressed. Participants will also have the chance to ask Tom questions about the themes in Out in the Rural, the story itself, and his writing process. Following the conversation, attendees will take part in a thoughtful discussion with fellow participants exploring Out in the Rural and the many ideas it raises.
